Clue: The Corrupt Kingdom of Eidengarde
This was a group project with Ellie Cooper!
We took the original game of Clue and made a special edition, with a new aesthetic and theme. We made the branding and assets and built a new (and playable) version.
Our goal was to not try to redesign Clue based on an existing franchise, but to entirely change it to a new identity. We wanted to keep the same characters to honor the original board game, but otherwise, come up with a new story.
We want our outcome to get Clue’s current audience and prospective Clue players excited about a new version that they haven’t seen before.

Six carefully chosen guests arrive at King Black’s castle of the kingdom of Eidengarde, after receiving a mysterious invitation. Over dinner, Black announces his plans to take over the neighboring kingdom. Everyone objects, but then Black reveals that he has the perfect blackmail to force each one of them into helping him. If they don’t, their secrets will be revealed. Shortly after, Black excuses himself and the guests disperse to digest the news. A scream rings out and the guests discover Black, murdered.
Now you must solve the classic mystery.
Our Process
The new redesign takes place in a 19th century kingdom called Eidengarde. The king, Boddy Black, has been blackmailing various members of his royal court, ranging from his own daughter, to the local stable boy.
This ambitious project brought about challenges that bettered us to be well-rounded designers.
My Contribution
My main contribution to our project was developing the interior scenery of Eidengarde. I designed the game board, and the accompanying location cards. I also created the weapon cards/tokens, and a token box to put the dice, character, and weapon tokens.
I also created the new notepad to account for the new weapon and location names.
Ellie and I worked together on construction, photography, and the directions. Together, we made a playable game set!
Game Board
Ellie and I ideated new locations and mapped out where they should go. I then created the game board in Procreate and Illustrator.
Card Designs
Along with the location cards to accompany the board game, I designed the back of all the cards, as well as the weapon cards.
Tokens & Box
I created a diline for the small box to hold all the tiny parts of Clue.
