Brains On! Podcast: How Alien Life Would Greet Us
This is a group project that I did with Ellie Cooper. Click here to get a glimpse into her side of the project!
Our task was to use motion design to create an animation, along with three infographic posts, that accompany one episode of Brains On! Specifically, it is during the segment where they ask their listeners to answer a question.
Our podcast is titled “How would life evolve in space?”
The listeners were asked to respond to “How alien life would greet us.”
This project is an official selection in the Motion Design Education Summit of 2025!

Our Intention
Our goal for this project was to create a visually engaging animation that captures the imagination of children.
We wanted it to be feel similar to that of a children’s book. Childlike, whimsical, and extraterrestrial.
We decided to accomplish this through rotoscope and frame-by-frame animation.
The Process
We took reference footage of ourselves, altered them as needed, and drew each frame individually over it, adding our own texture and personal touch.

Alienized Final :)
Stylization
We created hypothetical postcards for alien planets as a way of designing the characters for each audio clipping!
Infographics
We also were tasked with creating infographics that highlight some of the information in the specific podcast episode. Here are the two that I created!
